The Celtics stage another late comeback to secure a 4-0 sweep over the Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals.

 

Derrick White remained composed at center court while his teammates celebrated around him on Monday night.

Observing Jayson Tatum's triumphant toss of the ball into the air, Al Horford's rush towards the coaching staff, and Jaylen Brown's reception of the Eastern Conference finals MVP award, White seemed focused on the task ahead. His pivotal 3-pointer with 43 seconds remaining sealed the Boston Celtics' 105-102 victory over the Indiana Pacers, clinching their second NBA Finals appearance in three years with a 4-0 series sweep.




Brown, who scored 29 points, grabbed six rebounds, and made a crucial block with 65 seconds left, praised White's game-winning shot. Despite White's modest 16-point performance and a 1-of-8 shooting record from beyond the arc before his decisive shot, his contribution proved essential in securing the win.

The victory marked the Celtics' seventh consecutive playoff win, including a perfect 6-0 record on the road and a flawless 3-0 record in elimination games this season. Despite Indiana's strong resistance, exemplified by their 6-0 home record prior to the series, Boston's resilience prevailed.

Tempers flared briefly during the game, notably when Pacers' Myles Turner knocked down Derrick White, prompting a confrontation between Turner and Jaylen Brown. Despite these moments of tension, the Celtics maintained their focus and composure, ultimately outplaying the Pacers in critical moments.


Andrew Nembhard led the Pacers' effort with 24 points, 10 assists, and six rebounds, but his missed three-pointer in the final seconds dashed Indiana's hopes of forcing overtime. Despite valiant efforts from Pascal Siakam, T.J. McConnell, and Aaron Nesmith, the Pacers fell short against Boston's late-game dominance.

The Celtics' resilience was evident as they erased a two-point deficit in the final minutes, with Tatum's dunk tying the game and Brown's jumper leveling the score before White's decisive three-pointer. With their sights set on their 18th NBA title, Boston showcased their ability to deliver in clutch moments, securing a hard-fought victory and advancing to the NBA Finals.
