Guns N’ Roses rock MetLife Stadium with epic show

Guns N’ Roses, the legendary hard rock band, delivered an explosive performance at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on August 15, 2023, as part of their massive world tour. The band played for more than three hours, thrilling the crowd of over 80,000 fans with their classic hits and new songs.

The show kicked off with the iconic riff of “Welcome to the Jungle”, followed by “It’s So Easy” and “Mr. Brownstone”. The band then launched into a series of songs from their landmark album Appetite for Destruction (1987), which reached number one on the Billboard 200 a year after its release. The album features the top 10 singles “Welcome to the Jungle”, “Paradise City”, and “Sweet Child o’ Mine”, the band’s only single to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 1001.

The band also played songs from their two 1991 albums, Use Your Illusion I and II, which sold well but were generally regarded as less compelling than their previous work. The band performed “Live and Let Die”, “November Rain”, “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door”, “Civil War”, “You Could Be Mine”, and “Don’t Cry”. The band also surprised the fans with a cover of “Wish You Were Here” by Pink Floyd, featuring Slash and Richard Fortus on acoustic guitars.

The band’s current lineup consists of Axl Rose (vocals), Slash (lead guitar), Duff McKagan (bass), Dizzy Reed (keyboards), Melissa Reese (keyboards), Richard Fortus (guitar), and Frank Ferrer (drums). The band has gone through many changes in personnel, violence at their concerts, substance abuse, and allegations of racism and homophobia stemming from the lyrics to their song “One in a Million”. Despite these challenges, the band has remained popular and influential in the rock scene, with over 45 million albums sold in the United States.

The band’s latest album, Chinese Democracy (2008), was released after a long delay and received mixed reviews. The band played only two songs from the album, “Chinese Democracy” and “Better”. The band also debuted a new song, “Hard School”, which was leaked online in 2019 but never officially released. The song received a positive response from the fans, who chanted along with the chorus.

The show ended with a bang, as the band played “Paradise City” with fireworks and confetti. The band thanked the fans for their support and promised to return soon. The fans left the stadium satisfied and exhilarated, having witnessed one of the best rock shows of the year.

Guns N’ Roses are one of the most popular and influential rock bands in the world, with over 65 million subscribers on YouTube. They have collaborated with artists such as Aerosmith, Metallica, Elton John, Queen, and AC/DC. They have performed at prestigious events such as Coachella and Rock in Rio. They have received four American Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, two World Music Awards, and four Grammy nominations
